Sugnan Dani is a multifaceted musician and scholar. His expertise spans Hindustani vocal music and the Jaltarang, an ancient and unique melodic percussion instrument. As the son of Shri Arun Dani and Vid. Shashikala Dani, Sugnan has inherited a deep passion for music and a commitment to excellence. His unique journey from being an electronics engineer to a celebrated vocalist, Jaltarang artiste, composer, and researcher reflects his passion for technology, music, and education.

Biography
Sugnan began his musical journey at the young age of 4 under his mother’s tutelage. By 5, he had performed on stage, and by 8, he was delivering full-fledged solo concerts. Over the years, he has trained under stalwarts such as Vidushi Dr. Kamal Purandare, Shri Shrikant Kulkarni, and Pandit Vinayak Torvi, shaping his artistry with a blend of technical mastery and emotive expression.
He holds prestigious qualifications, including Sangeet Visharad and a Master’s degree in Music, and is a B-High grade artiste with All India Radio. Beyond his accomplishments as a performer, Sugnan is the founder-secretary of Swara Naada Sangeeta Vidyalaya®, an institution dedicated to nurturing future generations of musicians.
Sugnan is also a music researcher, serving as a UGC Senior Research Fellow while pursuing his PhD, supported by a fellowship from the Government of India. He has numerous national research publications, conference presentations, and over 150 music-compositions spanning classical, semi-classical, and light music genres to his credit.
